Neutron Scattering

Neutron scattering will be used to study hydrogen trapping at dislocations in deformed Pd at low temperatures.

This project will involve the use of neutron scattering sources in the US such as the NIST Center for Neutron Research, the Spallation Neutron Source at ORNL, the High Flux Isotope Reactor at ORNL, and the Los Alamos Neutron Scattering Center at LANL. Both elastic and inelastic techniques will be applied.

This project is sponsored by the NSF and will support Ph.D.-level activities. The project will start immediately and is in collaboration with Professor Trinkle in MSE.
